    About the Major

    A nursing graduate works with a wide variety of people, including patients and their families, physicians, fellow nurses, and other health care professionals. As you work towards the goal of
    applying to the nursing program, also work on gaining experiences that enhance your communication, confidence, interpersonal skills, and independence. As a pre nursing student, take advantage of a wide range of experiences in a variety of settings and contexts that allow you to develop the ability to think critically and quickly, and to manage decision making in sometimes unexpected and ambiguous situations.

    Acceptance into the nursing program is highly competitive. Once accepted, this active and collaborative learning community of nursing students will participate in a curriculum that includes
    evidence based practices, leadership, professionalism, health promotion quality safety We provide learning experiences in maternal infant care, acute chronic care, care transitions population, community global health, healthcare disparities social determinants of care, and health policy advocacy.
