About the Major

The emergency medical services (EMS) degree program at the University of Utah's Center for Emergency Programs prepares students to serve as allied health professionals in emergency medical response. The program trains students to provide critical care and transport services to the community.

Learning Outcomes

  • Gain applicable skills and knowledge in prevention, health promotion & education, behavior change, program planning, and program evaluation.
  • Understand and demonstrate skills needed for patient care.
  • Understand and effectively navigate difficult situations.
  • Provide emergency response based on certification achievement.
